French Equatorial Africa (FEA). Free French Africa. Type BAO 1936 modified. Banknote issued in 1942 but undated. Work of Sébastien Laurent and engraving by Hourriez. Printer: Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co, London. Dimensions: 163 x 95 mm. Watermark with a woman's head in profile. Front and back: Multicolored print predominantly purple, brown and yellow. On the front: A frame composed of repetitive geometric shapes. On a lattice background, two young Aboriginal women wear jewelry and a traditional headdress. Top center in blue, the sending institute "FRENCH FREE AFRICA". The value "100" is printed in blue in the upper left corner. In the opposite corner, a French flag printed all in blue. Numbering and signatures are printed in black. Only one type of signatures: For the Defense Council, Gal de Larminat and the Director of Finance, Pierre Denis. On the back: Vegetal composition with in the foreground, a young indigenous woman carrying a basket on her head. On the right, article 139 of the Penal Code is printed in a white cartridge. Specimens on issued notes with a "SPECIMEN" surcharge in red and diagonally front and back and punched "114". Only 60 copies known according to Maurice Kolsky. Known copies: C265,868, D350,801, E445,193, K975749, Q521,686. Another specimen numbered "A000 001 - Q560 000" with "SPECIMEN" perforated horizontally at the bottom. Imprimeur : Bradbury, Wilkinson &Co, Londres. Dimensions : 163 x 95 mm. Filigrane comportant une tête de femme de profil. Recto et verso : impression multicolore à dominante violet, brun et jaune. Au recto : cadre composé de formes géométriques répétitives. Sur un fond de lattis, deux jeunes femmes autochtones portent des bijoux et une coiffe traditionnelle. En haut au centre en bleu, l'institut émetteur « AFRIQUE FRANÇAISE LIBRE ». La valeur « 100 » est imprimée en bleu dans l'angle supérieur gauche. Dans l'angle opposé, un drapeau français imprimé tout en bleu. La numérotation et les signatures sont imprimées en noir. Un seul type de signatures : Pour le Conseil de Défense, Gal de Larminat et Le Directeur Financier, Pierre Denis. Au verso : composition végétale avec au premier plan, une jeune femme autochtone portant un panier sur la tête. A droite, l'article 139 du Code Pénal est imprimé dans un cartouche blanc. Spécimens sur billets émis avec une surcharge « SPECIMEN » en rouge et en diagonale recto et verso et perforé « 114 ». Seulement 60 exemplaires connus selon Maurice Kolsky.
