Tomorrow, January 4, 2022, a very rare specimen of 5,000 francs Marianne type 1945 (Ref. Fayette-Dessal: # VF14.00Ssn, Pick: # 109s, Schwan-Boling: # 134s) will be auctioned at at cgb.fr "January Live auction Banknotes 2022" (lot # 4510292). Estimated at € 11,000, the banknote will be offered at the starting price of € 7,000. FYI, the last quote of this note is € 6,000 in the new 2022 Fayette-Dessal catalog!

The auction house's comment reads: "Watermarked specimen, unperforated and without the SPECIMEN stamp in the center. Delarue overprint, specimen n ° 14. Annotation in pencil: Sea blue, B.5701. This is the first time that we have offer this reference and the only copy that we have seen with this version without a stamp".

The last sentence of the comment must be understood for a note not including a "SPECIMEN" overprint in black and obliquely in the center of the note! More precisely, out of the 24 specimens listed in the fbow inventory, 5 copies are known with this particularity: # 5, # 11, # 14, # 16 and # 28. All the other specimens bearing the De La Rue printer's stamp are, like for example #18, overprinted "SPECIMEN" diagonally in the center.

The copy N ° 14 offered by cgb.fr had already been seen for sale, more than 20 years ago ... at Spink in April 2010, Auction # 1023 (lot # 537) and had realized the price of 3600 £ (i.e. € 6,593 with fees).

Demain, le 4 janvier 2022, un très rare spécimen du 5000 francs Marianne type 1945 (Réf. Fayette-Dessal: VF14.00Ssn, Pick: 109s, Schwan-Boling: 134s) sera proposé aux enchères lors de la Live auction Billets de Janvier 2022 chez cgb.fr (lot #4510292). Estimé à 11000 €, le billet sera proposé au prix de départ de 7000 €. Pour info, la dernière cote de ce billet est de 6000 € dans le nouveau catalog Fayette-Dessal de 2022 !

Le commentaire de la maison de vente indique : "Spécimen filigrané, non perforé et sans le tampon SPECIMEN au centre. Surcharge Delarue, spécimen n°14.  Annotation au crayon : Sea blue, B.5701. C'est la première fois que nous proposons cette référence et seul exemplaire que nous ayons vu avec cette variante sans tampon".

La dernière phrase du commentaire doit être comprise pour un billet ne comportant pas de surcharge "SPECIMEN" en noir et en oblique au centre de la coupure ! Plus précisément, sur les 24 spécimens recensés dans l'inventaire fbow, 5 exemplaires sont connus avec cette particularité : N°5, 11, 14, 16 et 28. Tous les autres spécimens comportant le tampon de l'imprimeur De La Rue sont, comme par exemple le N°18, surchargés "SPECIMEN" en diagonal au centre.

L'exemplaire N°14 proposé par cgb.fr avait déjà été vu à la vente, il y a plus de 20 ans... chez Spink en avril 2010, Auction #1023 (lot # 537) et avait réalisé le prix de 3600 £ (soit 6593 € avec les frais de vente).

Since January 8, 2022, a very rare copy of the 100 francs Trésor Public type 1955 (Ref. Fayette-Dessal: # VF34.02, Pick: # M11, Schwan-Boling: # 841) has been offered for sale on the french website leboncoin.fr. The note is numbered S.2 - 70242 and presented in F grade. The seller does not offer a buy it now price, but has put a toast of explanations in the description!

Admittedly, this alphabet is very rare for the type since only 6 examples in letter A are listed to date in the fbow.fr inventory.

The banknote offered for sale is of the S.2 series, which would be a first for the 100 francs Trésor Public and this serial number would indicate that the entire alphabet would therefore have circulated or almost...

Only, I invite you to observe the cut more closely. Have you found what's wrong? Well, the check number does not match the serial number at the bottom left! In the center, it should read: 001770270 and at the bottom left, we have the serial number: 70242. The proof is indisputable, it is a counterfeit intended to deceive collectors. Fortunately, the author of the scam is rather stupid...

Depuis le 8 janvier 2022, un très rare exemplaire du 100 francs Trésor Public type 1955 (Réf. Fayette-Dessal: # VF34.02, Pick: # M11, Schwan-Boling: # 841) est proposé à la vente sur leboncoin.fr. Le billet est numéroté S.2 - 70242 et présenté en état TB. Le vendeur ne propose pas de prix en achat immédiat, mais en a mis une tartine d'explications dans la description !

Certes, cet alphabet est très rare pour le type puisque seulement 6 exemplaires en lettre A sont recensés à ce jour dans l'inventaire fbow.fr.

Le billet proposé à la vente est de l'alphabet S.2, ce qui serait une première pour le 100 francs Trésor Public et ce numéro de série indiquerait que tout l'alphabet aurait donc circulé ou presque...

Seulement, je vous invite à observer la coupure de plus près. Vous avez trouvé ce qui ne va pas ? Et bien, le numéro de contrôle du billet ne correspond pas au numéro d'ordre en bas à gauche ! Au centre, il faut lire : 001770270 et en bas à gauche, on a le numéro d'ordre : 70242. La preuve est indiscutable, il s'agit d'une contrefaçon destinée à tromper les collectionneurs. Heureusement, que l'auteur de l'arnaque est plutôt stupide...

A solidarity voucher "Bon de solidarité" of 50 centimes type 1941 (Ref. Kleiber: # KL.01A) was sent to us by the Maison des Collections of Saint-Suliac. The banknote is in UNC grade. This type is never numbered. The banknote still has its initial counterfoil from the notebook. On the front, the voucher has the particularity of being overprinted with a rectangular blue stamp: "5F for summer camps". This overprint is completely new for these solidarity vouchers!

Un Bon de solidarité de 50 centimes type 1941 (Réf. Kleiber : # KL.01A) nous a été adressé par la Maison des Collections de Saint -Suliac. Le billet est en état NEUF. Ce type n'est jamais numéroté. Le billet possède encore sa souche initiale issue du carnet. Au recto, le bon présente surtout la particularité d'être surchargé d'un tampon bleu rectangulaire : "5F pour les colonies de vacances". Cette surcharge est tout à fait inédite pour ces bons de solidarité !
