By a prefectural decree of 31 January 1945, it was created a special currency for the use of Prisoners of War camps. The banknotes must be provided to 100 francs, 50 francs, 10 francs, 5 francs, 2 francs and 1 franc, size and type approved by the Minister of Finance and printed by the Bank of France. The issue amount was initially set at 30 millions and was later increased to 150 millions. The 100 francs and 2 francs were ultimately not been printed. Printer: Desfossés (Paris). Description: Geometric pattern on front. Green color background with dark green markings. Olive branches on reverse with black markings. No watermark. Size: 74x44mm.
